Pynwheel Launches the All-New Pynwheel Touch, a Spatial Intelligence Leasing App for Apartment and Student Housing Communities

The On-Site Apartment Sales Presentation

An AI-driven update brings spatial intelligence, the latest Pynwheel Map features and student housing friendly options to Pynwheel's leasing app, now on Windows touchscreens, iPhone, iPad and Android.

DENVER, Colorado — October 28, 2026 — Pynwheel today announced the all-new Pynwheel Touch, a leasing app for apartment and student housing communities that uses spatial intelligence to put every piece of property information at a prospect's fingertips. Pynwheel Touch turns a leasing-office touchscreen, kiosk, tablet or phone into an on-site sales tool that helps prospects find their next home. The AI-driven update is available now on the Microsoft Store, the App Store and Google Play, and it brings the latest Pynwheel Map updates to the leasing-office touchscreen.

Think of it as a full system upgrade: a cleaner interface, friendlier controls for screens of every size, and a platform built so improvements reach every screen automatically.

Why it matters

Prospects walk into a leasing office with a hundred questions. Which units get morning light? What are the total costs? Which units have balconies? Pynwheel Touch puts all of that property information at their fingertips. Its spatial intelligence ties every home, price, floor plan, amenity and neighborhood spot to its real place on the map, so prospects see exactly where their next home sits and why it's the one. Leasing teams spend less time hunting for answers and more time selling.

The results show up in the numbers. At one Class A lease-up, the on-site team put Pynwheel Touch in its leasing gallery before the doors opened and signed 52 net leases, all pre-leasing. The team estimates about half of those, 26 leases, would not have closed without Pynwheel Touch: roughly $811,200 in first-year lease value.

Early feedback on the new version is landing well, too. “It looks beautiful, and the updated map is super cool,” said Anthony Suarez, Community Manager at Millennium Metrowest in Orlando. “I was just showing it off to one of our leasing consultants.”

What's new in Pynwheel Touch

  • One app, every screen. Pynwheel Touch installs from the Microsoft Store for Windows touchscreens, the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and Google Play for Android phones and tablets.
  • Built for touch and for phones. Bigger, friendlier controls, a simpler filter bar, unit cards that put price and key details first, and one consistent Back button on phones.
  • Redesigned pages. Gallery, Neighborhood, Favorites and the floor plan and unit pop-ups all got the new look.
  • Updates without the wait. Improvements show up on every screen automatically. No reinstalls, no waiting on app stores.
  • Still unmistakably theirs. Every community keeps its own colors and logo, pulled automatically from the Pynwheel system.

What's new in Pynwheel Map

Pynwheel Map is the heart of Pynwheel Touch, and the recent updates to Pynwheel Map are now live on the touchscreen.

  • An interactive 3D map. Prospects explore the community in 3D, filter by floor and see which homes are available, right where they sit in the building.
  • Sun positioning. Prospects see where the sun hits the community, so it's easy to spot which units get morning light.
  • A built-in calculator. Prospects can work out their total monthly costs on the spot, and it fits neatly on phone screens too.
  • Favorites sharing by QR code. Prospects can save the apartments they love on the leasing-office screen, scan a QR code and walk out with their shortlist on their phone.
  • A cleaner, more modern look. Consistent spacing, type and buttons on every screen, so Pynwheel Map and Pynwheel Touch feel like one polished experience.

What's new for student housing

Student housing leasing season is a sprint: students and parents tour back to back and want answers on the spot. This update adds student housing friendly options built for exactly that:

  • Marketing by floor plan. Communities can market by floor plan, the way student housing is actually leased.
  • Unit-space details. Students see the details of each space within a unit, so they know exactly what they're signing up for.
  • Low availability and sold-out banners. Floor plans that are almost gone or sold out are flagged at a glance, so students know when to act fast.

Add the 3D map, the calculator and QR-code favorites sharing, and students can take their shortlist home to talk it over with roommates and parents.

Availability

“We built Pynwheel Touch to do what the best leasing agents do: show prospects exactly what they're looking for and help them picture life there,” said Jennifer Cyphers, CEO of Pynwheel. “Now it runs on every screen a leasing team uses, and it keeps getting better without anyone lifting a finger. Our mission is to be the most enjoyable company to work with in the multifamily industry, so we built it to be as fun for leasing teams as it is for prospects.”

The new Pynwheel Touch is available now on the Microsoft Store for Windows, the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and Google Play for Android.
